Shavron Flying Club Operation Please read and observe these guidelines!
Member pilots are free to use any Club aircraft for personal trips.
There are no restrictions regarding flight distance, minimum/maximum hours of use, eligibility or destination. These aircraft are provided at airline expense purely for your enjoyment and hour accumulation, so please use them! The Shavron Flying Club manager asks only the following: 1) As always, flights with Club aircraft which are filed for hour credit on a Flying Club Pilot Report must be made with all realism settings at full. No coupled rudder, no auto-mixture, etc. After all, we are trying to make this a realistic experience. 2) Same goes for weather. Always download real world weather prior to starting any flight that you plan to submit for hour credit. 3) The Club aircraft can logically be expected to be found at the Homer and Haines Alaska bases. You can begin any Club aircraft flight from any of our base locations. Exception - If you want to coordinate with other pilots via the forum, feel free. For example, one pilot may wish to fly the twin Bonanza to Atlanta and leave it, another pilot may wish to take it from there to New York. Naturally, Shavron is not going to track every aircraft all the time. We just ask that pilots not artificially move aircraft to starting points that are outside the realm of realism, like starting a flight in a Club aircraft from Miami without any cooperation from another pilot. Let's try to keep it real. 4) In the light of realism, please accept responsibility for returning the aircraft to base. Plan to make round trips unless you coordinate with other pilots. 5) Management is currently deliberating costs. For now, take advantage - it's free! In the future, management may deduct an hourly operation charge and fuel from pilot salary, but this policy IS NOT YET IN EFFECT. However, please report your fuel use carefully. You will not be charged for fuel use now, but we do wish to monitor the cost of Club operation. 6) Use the main PIREP form to file your flight reports. Club hours will be listed on the Roster immediately beside your commercial hours. Flying Club hours WILL NOT be paid and WILL NOT count toward advancement in rank at Shavron. HOWEVER - - - Participation at and within Shavron at all levels is highly encouraged and greatly valued by management. The management of Shavron may change this hour applicability policy, and may choose to reward Club hours in another manner at some point in the future. For this reason, please carefully report your Club hours. Please bear in mind that the Flying Club is purely an experimental concept and a bonus to you pilots. Our mission here is to make your Flight Simulator experience as good as it can get, and to offer you as much in the way of flying diversity as is possible while offering hour recognition for your time and accumulated experience. As always, your criticism and suggestions are appreciated. Please see the Contacts page to email the management of Shavron. |
